Personal Financial Statement Templateįirst up is my all-in-one, dashboard-style spreadsheet called the personal financial statement template. Once I've got a solid spreadsheet together with my outgoings including student loan repayments I can then formulate a plan as to where I save money etc but I'm struggling to get the first stage done. But I find this isn't helping me put a budget together - I feel I'm tricking myself that I'm saving money when I'm actually not? I did initially attempt a budget when I started university again but I found I was more or less just recording what I spent and didn't feel this was helping very much :/ I need to change this mindset but clearly it will change once I have a sustainable income rather than petty cash. I'm also falling into a trap where I'm overestimating expenditure which I always do generally so I'm a bit more prude with money. Is simply dividing costs in half a suitable enough strategy for me to have for my own budget? I trying to also factor in costs I often pay annually like car insurance, road tax but the spreadsheets templates I'm trying to get used to at the moment all have these as monthly outgoings and I don't know how to account for this - in on Mobile at minute and haven't looked at this spreadsheet on reddit so perhaps it might be more suitable. We do not have a joint account, and at this stage are keeping finances independent. I'm just starting to put together a budget so I can figure out how much I can save etc but I'm struggling to account for things like rent and home costs when these are joint costs. ![]() I'm a bit late to start a career as I'm a mature student at university (just finishing university) and moving in with my girlfriend who has a career too. You can make a copy of the template I am maintaining here: * Tacking long-term savings or investments * Default settings that ' nudge' a user into best practice decisions * Ability to track Credit Card and/or debt repayments and model the benefits of over-payments * Best practice recommendations for managing your monthly budget * A recommended amount to set aside every month to cover irregular and one-off purchases * Ability to budget for multiple large purchases * Ability to enter custom irregular payments * Budgeting page where you can enter income and regular expenses Look for Chartered and/or Certified Financial Planners:įollowing this recent thread on UKPF I have taken one of the spreadsheets that was shared by u/Strap and edited it to make it even more UKPF friendly.
